Central Michigan Weekend Fun and Local Deals: January 30th - February 1st, 2026

Looking for fun things to do around Central Michigan this weekend without blowing your budget? We’ve rounded up a great mix of family-friendly activities, free events, and a few low-cost experiences to help you make the most of January 30th through February 1st. From hands-on fun at KidsQuest and downtown scavenger hunts to comedy, story time, and even a new bakery soft opening, there’s something happening across the central area for every age and interest - no matter how chilly it gets outside.

All weekend long you can stop by KidsQuest inside the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort in Mt. Pleasant for a little something extra - build with blocks and play in the arcade.


If it isn't too cold, you can enjoy a little free fun with your family in downtown Midland this weekend by participating in a scavenger hunt. Pick up a scavenger hunt card at Serendipity Road or Modern Explorer Guilds and see how many images you can find on the windows of downtown businesses and match with your card. Once completed, return your card and you could even win prizes! Winners to be announced in February.


Stop by Nature Niche in Midland between 10 am and 6 pm to pick up your free sample of their Midland songbird seed mix.


Bring the kids to play games, win prizes and learn about area resources available to support you and your family. Activities kick off at the John C. Magnus Center in Harrison at 3:30 pm.


Get ready to laugh this Friday evening as 10 different comedians vie for your vote as the favorite of the night. The show kicks off at 7 pm and only costs $5.


Stop by the library for story time at 10:30 am. No cost to attend.


Stop by the Hive Greenville and enjoy trying four different teas in a tea flight offered between 11 am - 2 pm. Cost is only $10.


Between 11 am and 6 pm, you can stop by and check out Gladwin's newest bakery and vendor market - the Tangerine Turnip! This soft opening will have a little bit of something for everybody, and it will be a great opportunity to discover new products now available in Central Michigan.


Central Michigan Roller Derby is hosting FREE adult learn to skate sessions throughout February at Pins Bar and Grille in Ithaca. Stop by between 11 am - 3 pm for you chance to pick up some new skills. Afterall, you are never too old to learn something new.
